Jeremy’s Tree shows no matter what lies ahead, the sun is always there to help guide you and to illuminate the possibilities. The colors are peaceful and the forest is tranquil. Jeremy’s Tree is a good tree; it is strong and supple and embedded solidly in the earth. Please remember Jeremy as this tree. Just as Jeremy was embedded solidly in the love of his parents, friends and family.

Reminds me of Christmas joy, the smell of pine trees, one’s cones, balsam, and fires burning. It makes me think that art is such a wonderful gift and brings joy and happiness to the artist and the viewer.

This is a simple view looking south, down the California coastline at the Pacific Ocean. God gave us Mother Earth who shares her beauty with each of us. The golden, majestic and vibrant colors are for all to see. Love will never fail you, it is not able. Love is for everyone. It is of no consequence who you are, or how you arrived there, if you are looking at the sunset in this painting you are receiving the love of the universe, it is your gift.
Gaelic tradition teaches each tree has a soul just as humans do, so I like to think friends are like trees. They stand tall and strong. They support you when you need a whole new life; like a bird building a nest in a branch. If danger approaches they can just lift you up to a higher level, an upper branch. They are there to offer unconditional love. They are there in the sunrise after a long night, they are there in the twilight, sometimes only to listen or just be silent.
Jeremy’s Forest became real as I looked at Jeremy’s Trees and wanted to continue in creating a sky full of color and wonder. A sky full of future and love and comfort. I created a path to walk, and a goal to attain. The goal is deep in the tranquil forest, where only love remains. It reminds me of the journey on the path to happiness.
I sent out a request to my family and friends to share the feelings evoked when viewing Jeremy’s Forest. My cousin sent an “Evocation from family: ” Having spent an on-and-off night camping atop a cliff, when peeking over the edge, it seems the morning light cutting through the tail of the disintegrating cloud system, tells me, after a cup of fresh “cowboy coffee”, it’s going to be a perfect day. Climb on! “
The vacation to Big Sur was full of crazy all-encompassing love. I was so in love when I stayed there. After taking pictures there, I wanted to paint it. So, I did. To remind myself of the exquisite magical love found there. My heart was so full of loving thoughts, suddenly everything became possible, just by imagining it. Lady Lounging came about because I was painting a landscape and decided to add silver paint to the color scheme. It brought me into a space where fantasy and reality mixed into one gorgeous landscape. Then, serendipitously, a shape formed and became a woman on the beach (or “of” the beach), resting and enjoying the warm rays of the sun and the breeze off the water.
The cardinal is regarded as symbol of hope, healing, joy, health, rejuvenation and celebration. Tradition teaches this special bird, who can live up to 15 years, epitomizes special people who are rare, energetic and mindful of others. Some believe a cardinal is a sign from loved ones reminding us of the heavens ever protective and watchful guidance. My painting depicts a beautiful red male on a swing in winter. He waits patiently to see his loved one so he can sooth him by singing him a song.
